AI startups' hardest hire: someone who gets tech and can create content
AlchainHust · x · 2026-10-12
A discussion of the role AI startups want most but struggle to hire: someone always online on trends, with taste and creation skills, real understanding of AI and tech, and strong execution. Mapped onto a tech-vs-content quadrant, existing talent each holds only half: creators and social media operators have platform sense but can't explain AI products; engineers and devrels understand tech but nobody watches their content; traditional PR executes well but is neither online enough nor technical. The author argues such full-quadrant people are rare and mostly don't need a job unless it's an exceptionally attractive offer from labs like Anthropic or OpenAI.
