Rive renders entire 3D city with vector graphics, ships CLI for Codex and Claude Code agents
soleio · x · 2026-10-12
The Rive team unveiled "Rive City," a scene fully powered by Rive: the city, buildings, lighting, vehicles and UI are all 3D done with dynamic vector graphics, and the billboards are playable minigames. It runs natively on desktop, mobile, consoles and the web.
Rive positions itself not as an animation tool but a new type of experience engine: lightweight, with best-in-class vector acceleration, shader support for 3D/effects, and the ability to run on underpowered smart TVs and vehicles.
An official CLI brings Rive into agent-first workflows with Codex, Claude Code, Cursor and more, alongside built-in design tools. Licensing is royalty-free with no rev share or runtime fees; the runtime is MIT open source.
