Dev hopes next GPT matches Opus 5.5 on taste and clarity, not raw coding
jiayuan_jy · x · 2026-10-12
Developer @jiayuanjy lists three wishes for future GPT releases: aesthetic ability (UI/motion design) on par with or better than Opus 5.5, more natural phrasing, and less over-engineered defensive code. He argues that raw coding quality has been indistinguishable across models for generations, so differentiation must come elsewhere — Astra's computer use being a good example. In his view, Opus 5.5's strong reputation comes from great taste plus natural language, enabling viral demos on X.
