Yeah Hand: open-source humanoid robotic hand kits start at just $217
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-12
Italian engineer Vittorio Lumare's Yeah Hand aims to make humanoid robotic hands affordable, against lab-and-corporate-only pricing.
- Mostly 3D-printed, five servos per hand, fishing-line tendons with motors in the forearm, PTFE guides to cut friction
- 800 open/close test cycles without near-overheating; lifts up to 8 kg with 5 kg power-grip force
- Silicone pads for smooth objects, tiny thumbnails for fine picks
- Two versions: a robotic one (ROS + mounting flanges for common arms) and an experimental prosthetic for research; a flex-sensor glove mirrors your own hand
- Beta on Tindie: kits from $217, assembled $581
