AGI coiner Peter Voss tells Scoble we're nowhere near AGI and silicon deserves no rights
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-12
Scoble recounts a long evening conversation with Peter Voss, one of the people who coined the term AGI. Voss argues we aren't even close to AGI, that LLM companies are building something fundamentally different, and he is now working on a 'consciousness generating machine.' Both agree digital machines are human-made and shouldn't be granted rights even as they surpass human intelligence. A quoted tweet also mentions his team's underwater robot arm for physical AI entering the water.
