Claude tells user to stop asking and go to bed after eight versions of the same question
zzzupdate · reddit · 2026-10-12
A Reddit user training for a long-distance race asked Claude the same training question in about eight different shapes one night — pace, stride, heart rate, walk-break ratios. Claude Opus 5.5 finally replied that the constraint isn't the arithmetic but the body's six-hour endurance limit, said it was 11:30 PM, and told the user to stop going in circles and sleep. The user found it hilarious and said the model course-corrected after they flagged the unexpected reply.
