Aakash Gupta and Ankit Shukla published salary data for AI Product Manager / Product Builder roles on their podcast: AI PMs earn 15-20% more than traditional PMs in the US and Europe, and 30-50% more in India.
United States (12,397 AI product postings, $195K median, per KORE1 Salary Guide 2026):
- 0-2 yrs: $140K-$210K total comp
- 3-5 yrs: $210K-$330K
- 6-9 yrs: $320K-$520K
- 10+ yrs: $480K-$800K+
- Netflix is the outlier: an AI PM role posted at up to $900K, mostly equity
India (typical CTC by experience): freshers with AI projects at ₹15 LPA, 2 yrs ₹22 LPA, 4 yrs ₹33 LPA, 10 yrs ₹70 LPA, 12+ yrs ₹1.1 Cr. Bangalore pays ₹22-55L; AI-first companies median ₹55L vs ₹35L at Series B+ startups and ₹26L at enterprise MNCs. 7,994 AI PM jobs were open at crawl time, 3,298 in Bengaluru.
Who's hiring: LinkedIn, ShipBob, G2, Freshworks list builder titles; OpenAI, Anthropic, Netflix, Meta, Google list AI PM roles (Anthropic PM at $305K-$385K).
What the premium pays for: across 12,500 job descriptions, the top skill was picking the right AI use case — beating RAG, agents, and prompt engineering. Example: Claude proposed an AWS stack costing $420/month; after two questions Ankit shipped it at $110. Learning the tools takes about four weekends; the judgment is the premium.
