Grok Build ships major update: multi-agent session tracking, background workflows, reliability fixes
XFreeze · x · 2026-10-12
Grok Build received a substantial update focused on running and tracking multiple agents in parallel.
- Session tracking: Rex terminal tabs now show each Grok session's state (working, waiting, done, failed); tool-call groups stay expanded as new calls arrive, and Ctrl+E speeds up navigating long reasoning transcripts.
- Background workflows: /workflow can list, stop, and resume background tasks; headless Grok waits for background goals and reports outcomes.
- Browser improvements: Chrome profiles persist across restarts, tabs restore on demand, and workspace sessions can share browser cookies and storage.
- Other additions: a /density control for tool-call detail, persistent domain approvals for web fetches, live slash-command updates on skill changes, and secure request forms for sensitive inputs.
- Reliability pass: automatic compaction on context overflow, persistent model switches, background shells killed on exit, approval prompts identify which session needs attention, safer worktree deletion, tighter Auto-mode permissions; project hooks now load from repo subfolders and support localhost HTTP hooks.
