The author built a GrokBot that takes hard English long threads or articles and returns, within minutes, a Chinese study document with background knowledge plus an animated explainer video — all from a phone, no computer needed.
Hands-on walkthrough
- Fed it a 29-tweet thread by Keenan Crane on 3D rendering and algorithms, asking for a Chinese article explaining names and algorithms. Got back a Chinese webpage (TOC left, body right, background filled in) plus a 43-page PDF with per-tweet Chinese and expandable originals.
- Then asked for an explainer video, explicitly rejecting PPT-style page flips and requesting draggable-parameter animations. Result: a 3:19 video with voiceover, music and subtitles across 18 shots; all figures come from the original thread (25 hours of model calls, 27 rounds of human feedback, 27KB of code), so hallucination is low.
Why GrokBot specifically
- It has its own cloud computer with enough power to install tools and run rendering, producing video from a phone.
- Pulling Twitter content needs no API and doesn't touch your account.
- You can change requirements mid-task, more smoothly than Codex/Claude Code.
Extensions
The author suggests A-roll + B-roll mixing: real footage for atmosphere, code animations for precision. He argues the barrier from text to HTML to video keeps dropping, and friction (not token cost) is the key. He plans to package the whole flow into a Bot and skill.
