AstroLoc model built for ISS photos now helps NASA's Artemis II localize Moon images

Developer gabriberton reports that AstroLoc, a photo-geolocation model his team built two years ago to localize ISS astronauts' Earth photos, is now used by NASA's Artemis II mission to localize lunar photography.
Per the official Artemis II Lunar Science Data User Guide, 3,687 Nikon Moon images were geolocated by tiling an illumination-adjusted lunar basemap, embedding tiles with AstroLoc into a vector database, and retrieving the lowest-embedding-distance tiles for each crew image — a strategy derived from the earlier Find My Astronaut Photo project.
