One prompt with Opus 5.5 decompiles and ports StarFox and Sonic CD to PC
CarlosGOAT09 · reddit · 2026-10-12
A Reddit user decompiled and natively ported StarFox, StarFox 2, and Sonic CD to Windows, Mac, and Linux using a single prompt with Claude Opus 5.5, no REA or similar skills involved. The model analyzed the ROMs, built high-level hardware runtimes, and added QoL improvements (resolution, framerate, audio, full controller support), even editing the extracted source to implement SuperFX overclocking and true 16:9 in Sonic CD. All three projects are open-sourced on GitHub.
