Chatbot vs agent: when you want a chat but get task execution instead

The author tried consolidating all ChatGPT usage into the personal agent 'dot' and hit a structural friction: when they wanted a conversational, verbose reply, the agent gave terse, execution-oriented answers. Their hypothesis that personal agents are a superset of chatbots may be wrong — the two product shapes involve mutually exclusive post-training tradeoffs.
