USV co-founder Fred Wilson echoed claims that "Google knows Gemini is going to cannibalize Google Search, and the numbers are staggering," saying he saw search traffic "way, way down" last week. He argues Google can afford to let Gemini kill the business that funded YouTube, Waymo, Gmail, and Android — but would be "in a world of hurt" if search were its only business. The poster mocked Wilson for not Googling the data first.
