Per Tom's Hardware, a solo developer used Claude to rebuild Word, Excel and PowerPoint as free open-source apps, following earlier open-source Adobe clones. He claims his per-employee output is 4x Google's and says more subscription software categories may get the same treatment next — another case of AI coding enabling one-person replications of major commercial software.
