AI researcher: almost no one sits at the frontier of AI, math and biology, making cross-field comparisons tricky
davidstutz92 · x · 2026-10-12
DeepMind researcher David Stutz opens a thread arguing that discussions of AI's impact on math vs biology are incredibly tricky: both fields are vast, and very few people—if any—have worked at the forefront of AI, math and biology and belonged to those communities well enough to make accurate comparisons, himself included. He suggests treating prominent analogies as impressions to understand rather than literal claims.
