Thomas Dybdahl Ahle, Head of ML at Normal Computing, revamped his personal site integrating blogging and social.
His work spans AI and theory:
- AI side: agents that design, formalize and verify chips
- Theory side: machine-checked hashing, fast polynomial evaluation, similarity search and sketching
Latest paper (NATCOM 2025) presents a small thermodynamic computer, the stochastic processing unit (SPU), built from RLC circuit unit cells, demonstrating Gaussian sampling and matrix inversion — the first thermodynamic linear algebra hardware experiment.
