Insomnia: open-source tool keeps Mac agents running with the lid closed
_AustinCalvert_ · x · 2026-10-12
Developer krishhgg released insomnia, an open-source "caffeinate for the agentic era": close your MacBook and your agents keep working. It prevents sleep with the lid shut, pauses unnecessary apps, and hops onto your phone's hotspot when you leave Wi-Fi.
The launch echoes Scott Belsky's argument that personal computing was designed around humans being present, and that agent-driven computing is a first-principles moment to rethink it.
