Engineer Brandon Thomas is using Claude to build free, open-source alternatives to Adobe's creative suite (ArtCraft) and has unveiled WordCraft, GridCraft and DeckCraft targeting Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
All apps are written in Rust with cross-platform support including Linux. Still early-stage, but they show AI enabling individual developers to tackle projects that once required entire engineering teams.
