OpenClaw v2026.10.1 ships skill discovery, MCP Apps, R2 backups from 2,425 PRs
heyneighbor · x · 2026-10-12
Open-source agent project OpenClaw released v2026.10.1, aggregating 2,425 PRs from 402 contributors.
Key additions:
- Installed-skill discovery: the agent can search installed skills when a task needs one, without loading the whole library into the prompt; searches follow read permissions, and reading a skill's instructions grants no install/run permission. Works in embedded agents, Code Mode, and Codex sessions.
- MCP Apps: opt-in, chat-adjacent apps using supported forms and workspace files.
- Full backups to external storage or Cloudflare R2, restoring into a fresh staging directory.
- Simpler Mac setup and many bug fixes.
