Midjourney 8.2 Thinking mode tested: handles wild physics prompts far better
TomLikesRobots · x · 2026-10-12
Midjourney 8.2's new 'Thinking' mode, now testable on the alpha site, shows a dramatic improvement on a notoriously hard prompt: a photorealistic storm scene with a businessman suspended horizontally on a lamppost and a woman leaning 45 degrees into the wind.
Comparison images show standard mode breaking on body physics, while Thinking mode nails the composition; GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst produced weird textures, noise and malformed people.
Not perfect yet, but a big leap for complex physics-heavy generation prompts.
