Variety reports exclusively that pilot episodes of two generative AI-produced sci-fi series — Space Nation and Kira, produced by Ex Machina Studios and sold worldwide by K5 Intl. — will have their world premieres at the Mipcom TV market in Cannes, screening Oct 12-13 at the Cinéma Les Arcades.
The companies say it is, to their knowledge, the first time fully produced AI-generated series episodes — not concept reels or previews — have been screened for buyers at a major international market. Space Nation runs eight 45-minute episodes co-produced with Brazil's Globoplay; Kira is a six-episode, 35-minutes-per-episode French production.
