Dad uses Whisper + Claude to pinpoint 2:06 in his 5-year-old's 30-min Audacity recording

The author's two young daughters were recording sibling-name brainstorming in Audacity when 5-year-old Roz got stuck trying to find a moment in the 30-minute file. Using his FrankenWhisper setup plus Claude, he transcribed the audio (291 timestamped segments, 9.5 minutes on a Mac), then had Claude scan the transcript to locate the target conversation at 2:06–2:20, with a second word-level pass over 1:55–2:27 confirming the timestamp.
The screenshot shows the full pipeline: Whisper transcription, bash + jq to build per-segment timestamps, and Claude cross-checking results. His takeaway: showing kids how AI can solve small, real problems in their own lives is worthwhile education.
