signulll: 1% of people building software is enough to collapse software prices to zero
signulll · x · 2026-10-12
signulll argues the key misunderstanding about AI disruption is that ordinary people need to build their own software — they don't. If just 1% of the population can build software, millions of new products will flood the supply side and collapse costs to near zero. He notes he never pays for software anymore: he just asks Claude to point him to a Chrome extension or Mac app. Eventually, agents will also auto-update and maintain software.
