Galbot humanoid robots staff Hong Kong 24-hour stores, grabbing drinks off shelves

Galbot's G1 robot (nicknamed "Xiao Gai") has been working three 24-hour convenience stores in Hung Hom, Wan Chai and Kai Tak in Hong Kong for over a month — the company's first stop outside mainland China.
The wheeled humanoid stands up to 1.73 m tall with two 7-DoF arms on a height-adjustable body, lifting up to 5 kg per arm and reaching from floor level to 2.1 m, on a four-wheel omnidirectional base. Customers order via a touchscreen; the robot turns, grabs the item from the shelf and hands it over, chatting in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. It runs on AstraBrain, Galbot's in-house embodied AI system.
Galbot says it already operates about 200 stores across nearly 50 mainland cities.
