Tim Cook demos iPhone Duo apps in Guangzhou as Xmind ships foldable support in two weeks
APPSO · wechat · 2026-10-11
APPSO met Tim Cook in Guangzhou to discuss the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable. A Bitrig hackathon demo turned the device into a Walkman, while Xmind completed its foldable adaptation in two weeks with a split-screen outline mode built around the hinge.
Cook argued apps shouldn't just place content side by side but exploit the larger, more immersive screen and different grip angles. The author frames Duo as an "iPhone that changes form": the system auto-pads around the crease, and many apps will need Duo-exclusive interactions rather than ports from other foldables.
