Redditor calculates a $20 subscription buys ~$1300 worth of API usage
vzakharov · reddit · 2026-10-11
A Reddit user worked out the real value of AI subscriptions: on a fresh $20 plan, they pushed each 5-hour usage window close to 100%, then tallied API-equivalent costs across all session logs and extrapolated — landing at roughly $1300 of API usage per $20 subscription. They also note an earlier, less precise estimate putting the $200 tier at around $8000 of usage. If accurate, the cheapest tier offers the best API-cost-to-subscription-price ratio.
