Dev proposes COGITATOR as a functional replacement for the term "AI"
solyarisoftware · x · 2026-10-11
A developer proposes COGITATOR as an alternative name for "AI": just as computer = compute + -er means "the machine that computes," cogitator derives from Latin cogitare (to think) + -tor, meaning "the machine that thinks."
The argument: the name describes the function without promising human-level intelligence, unlike loaded terms like "AI" or "superintelligence".
