Claude iOS app's unkillable pseudo-notifications draw fire from ex-OpenAI safety VP
Miles_Brundage · x · 2026-10-11
Miles Brundage, former OpenAI safety VP, called out Anthropic's Claude iOS app for pseudo-notifications that can't be turned off: even with notifications disabled, the app shows a "thinking" banner and alerts on task completion — effectively notifications.
In a follow-up he said he dislikes the change entirely, sparking discussion about AI apps overriding user settings.
