StructureGS-SLAM: structure-aware Gaussian Splatting SLAM claims SOTA on Replica and TUM RGB-D
rsasaki0109 · x · 2026-10-11
A new GitHub project page (code and paper coming soon) introduces StructureGS-SLAM, a structure-aware Gaussian Splatting SLAM framework. Key ideas:
- Planar Gaussian Instances (PGI): persistent planar structures are modeled as dedicated Gaussian instances to exploit structural priors
- Structure Closure: corrects drift via structural closure without requiring loop revisits
- Structure-aware Gaussian optimization plus adaptive RGB-Depth consistency for low-texture environments
The author reports state-of-the-art results on Replica and TUM RGB-D benchmarks across camera pose estimation, novel view synthesis, dense reconstruction, and low-texture robustness. Released under the MIT License.
