frenslop: a multiplayer browser sandbox where Claude rewrites game rules live
Confident-Honeydew66 · reddit · 2026-10-11
A developer released frenslop, a free no-download multiplayer browser sandbox (Garry's Mod-like): any player types a prompt ("add a giant bouncing cheese wheel", "flip gravity every 10 seconds") and Claude writes the change into the live game, synced to everyone instantly.
How live editing works
- The server sends the prompt plus a game-state snapshot and docs for a small custom scripting API (spawning objects, setting physics, timers, player event hooks) to Claude
- Claude returns a JavaScript snippet restricted to that API, run in a sandbox, hot-loaded into the session with no restart
- Errors trigger a rollback and get fed back to Claude for self-repair
Built with Claude too
- Multiplayer sync, physics/game loop, and the code sandbox were mostly built via Claude Code
- Most effort went into iterating the scripting API and system prompt until changes stopped breaking the game
- The author says he barely wrote code himself: described what he wanted, playtested with friends, pasted bugs back into Claude Code
