Matic founder: all-AI humanoids are years away as its cleaning robots sell hot
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-11
Robert Scoble visited the Matic cleaning-robot booth at X Takeover in Austin (2,500 Tesla fans attending) and shared observations:
- Matic's floor-cleaning robot has a loyal user base; existing customers were evangelizing to new ones and several units sold on-site — "evangelistic behavior by customers grows companies"
- Founder Mehul believes fully AI-driven humanoids are years away, a problem even Tesla can't solve quickly, with factory demand still unmet; Scoble thinks Tesla could get there within two years
- Positioning: vision-only, totally private, Made in USA — messages aimed at Tesla owners; kid-friendly design is a selling point, and one-robot buyers are easier to convert to a second
- Scoble calls Mehul one of the best consumer robot product builders he's met
