Per Caixin, Meta's launch of its personal agent Muse has triggered rapid follow-ups in China: ByteDance is accelerating a personal agent codenamed "Spell" (started before the National Day holiday), and Tencent quietly launched LightVela in late September — a WeChat-integrated "cloud personal assistant" that handles daily tasks around the clock, still in developer-preview. The poster notes big-tech copycat projects are routine; whether they're still alive in six months is the real test.
