Sentry CEO: Persistent VMs for AI agents are wrong, ephemeral sandboxes win
zeeg · x · 2026-10-11
Sentry CEO David Cramer argues that running AI agents on persistent VMs is the wrong approach — ephemeral sandboxes are already the present and offer superior capabilities. He draws an analogy to decades of web-infrastructure scaling: decouple permanent state from the VM and scale horizontally for more leverage. He also calls git worktrees a waste of time as a substitute.
