ns123abc · x · 2026-10-11
Musk laid out why xAI acquired Cursor: in his view only OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor (and arguably Google) had enough coding training data, and "if you can't do coding, your AI won't be very useful."
He also cited Cursor's deep talent bench and an enterprise sales team with relationships at thousands of companies as significant advantages, summarizing the recipe for success as data, talent, compute — plus strong enterprise sales.
