Ofir Press points to Arvind Narayanan's ICML 2026 keynote on what's left for humans to do
OfirPress · x · 2026-10-11
Following his SWE-bench anniversary predictions, Ofir Press cites Arvind Narayanan's ICML 2026 invited keynote "What will be left for us to work on?" (slides + edited transcript now public). The talk covers three threads: the "normal technology" framework is correct unless/until a discontinuity arrives; why Narayanan isn't losing sleep over recursive self-improvement; and how human roles shift in a world with advanced AI. Press notes he wrote his predictions mostly to check them against reality in a few years.
