When AI can do the work, jobs shift from doing to judging what's worth doing
AryHHAry · x · 2026-10-11
Indonesian tech worker AryHH Ary republishes and extends his 2023 essay on AI and jobs: emerging fields like AI, quantum, blockchain and biotech needed scientists and engineers because the formulate-test-correct loop was still human-run. Once systems can write, test and replicate those steps, demand shifts from those who can do the work to those who can decide what's worth doing and bear responsibility when assumptions break. He frames it not as "technology eating its creators" but as a shift in the unit of work — we optimize the measurable and remain puzzled by the unmeasurable: taste, evaluation, accountability.
