Musk: The Sun Will Power Far More Digital Intelligence Than Atom-Shaping in Space
XFreeze · x · 2026-10-11
Elon Musk laid out a cosmic-scale vision in an interview: with the Sun holding 99.86% of the solar system's mass (and Earth a mere rounding error), humanity's future use of solar energy will go overwhelmingly toward digital intelligence rather than shaping atoms. The amount of atoms that can be reshaped in the solar system is limited, he argued, and much atom-shaping will itself serve to build computing infrastructure — meaning "digital thinking" will vastly outscale physical transformation.
