Flick AI Film Festival Opens Submissions: Free, Online, Due December 15
lmoroney · x · 2026-10-11
Flick announced its AI Film Festival is open for submissions. Entry is free and fully online, open to filmmakers worldwide, with a deadline of December 15 and a virtual premiere on January 20.
There are six categories including short film, animation, music video, and vertical drama; teams of up to four, and under-18s can enter with guardian consent. Judging is story-first, with one criterion being "thoughtful use of AI" — how well it serves the filmmaker's vision. Before naming winners, Flick may request project files and generation history.
On rights: filmmakers keep ownership, Flick says it never trains models on submitted films, but films must be shared publicly with the festival watermark. The author's tip: whatever festival you enter, save your prompts, generation history, and project files as you go — they prove authorship and make a great teaching record.
