Anthropic reportedly asked AWS to urgently pull Claude Sonnet 3.5/3.7 from Bedrock
amplifiedamp · x · 2026-10-11
AWS Bedrock issued end-of-life notices for Claude Sonnet 3.5, 3.7 and Haiku 3. Per @tesseraantra, Amazon's emails make clear the takedown is at Anthropic's specific request, urgently, and not for cost reasons. The author argues this undermines Anthropic's cost-based rationale for not serving deprecated models, lowers his estimate of models being served publicly again, and suggests possible legal/contractual reasons, with research access as a possible later fallback.
