Fact check: Alibaba Cloud is only retiring old model versions, not rival models
pstAsiatech · x · 2026-10-11
Responding to claims that Alibaba Cloud removed DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM and MiniMax models, commenters flag the headline as misleading.
In reality, Alibaba Cloud is only retiring specific older model versions, including many old Qwen versions. Its official docs still list newer DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM and MiniMax models, and the retirement notice does not support the claim that all four rivals were removed.
