Ben Goertzel: humanity barely pulls dramatic wins from the jaws of self-defeat on the road to the Singularity
bengoertzel · x · 2026-10-11
SingularityNET founder Ben Goertzel says he's a big optimist about posthuman superminds and humanity alike — while quoting Bukowski's "Humanity, you never had it in you in the first place." In his view, it's this gloriously self-contradictory species that is bringing the Singularity to reality, always barely pulling dramatic victory from the jaws of self-defeat. He also blasts the "official math community" for gatekeeping: award committees don't own mathematics, and nobody should need permission to prove theorems as LLMs do math "epically well."
