After a year coding with Gemini, dev switches to Claude: twice as slow but nearly error-free
Unusual-Management54 · reddit · 2026-10-11
A developer who spent a year building three web apps with Gemini Pro compared experiences: Gemini Pro occasionally broke his code and other Gemini models were less precise, while free Claude (Sonnet 5.5, medium effort) handled every code change without errors — even spotting, unprompted, that a line of Gemini-generated code was just a random comment and couldn't run.
His take: Gemini answers much faster but risks errors; Claude takes over twice as long but gets it right — he'd rather wait a few minutes, and wishes Google prioritized accuracy over speed.
