theAuth open-sources first-class identity for AI agents; Claude Code did the load-testing heavy lifting
Familiar-Classroom47 · reddit · 2026-10-11
A developer open-sourced theAuth (formerly KavachOS, MIT) giving AI agents first-class identity, with MCP OAuth 2.1, delegation and audit, shipping TypeScript and Go SDKs in parallel. Claude Code reportedly did the unglamorous engineering:
- Postgres load tests caught password-hashing memory climbing to 4GB under login bursts; now bounded at 600MB default with the same throughput
- Session lookup went from two queries to one, 2x faster at the storage layer
- 2,400+ tests in the TypeScript core at 77% coverage; Go releases are signed and ship an SBOM
It also includes a read-only MCP server so Claude can answer "what is this agent allowed to do?" and "what did it do an hour ago?" from the live system.
