Not one-click: he built an animation engine with Claude to produce cartoon video podcasts
zndr-cs · reddit · 2026-10-11
An amateur animator describes his AI-assisted pipeline: rather than prompting and walking away, he built (with Claude's help) an engine that renders animation—currently a static set with 3 characters whose heads, eyes, and lips move, plus one hand gesture each. The plot is a video podcast in the vein of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. After he scripts desired reactions and timings, animation generates in minutes (voice rendering is the slow part), using AI voices blended with his and friends' voices. He'd prefer human artists and actors but can't afford commissions, and stresses the craft: script, timing, shots, lore. He's looking for others treating AI as a tool to swap techniques.
