Conflicting 2026 reports: enterprise AI agent adoption is 31% or 60%?
Panic_Lion · reddit · 2026-10-11
An AI implementation consultant consolidated the latest 2026 industry reports and found wildly conflicting data:
- Digital Applied says only 31% of enterprises have at least one agent in production and 88% of pilots never ship; G2 claims nearly 60% of organizations already run agents in production.
- Deloitte: 74% plan agentic AI deployment within two years, only 21% have mature governance, 84% haven't redesigned jobs; finance/insurance hit 47% production, manufacturing 27%.
- Belitsoft: enterprises run 12 agents on average, but only 11% of intended agentic use cases reached production despite 71% claiming deployment.
- Thomson Reuters: 40% of professionals say their firms use generative AI, 15% use agentic AI; 95%+ trust AI with basic admin tasks.
The author's take: a company can have the tools, budget and a "agent is live" slide while the real work is still spreadsheets and chat — making these findings hard to trust.
