Cloudflare launches contest to build the next Git platform for AI agents
dinasaur_404 · x · 2026-10-11
Cloudflare has launched a developer competition to build the next GitHub, arguing that Git was designed for human collaborators while software is increasingly written by hundreds or thousands of concurrent AI agents. Open questions include how agents coordinate, resolve conflicting changes, and review each other's output. Cloudflare's Artifacts — a versioned, Git-speaking filesystem launched earlier this year — provides the primitives (programmatic repo creation/forking, versioned storage for code and agent context), and contestants are invited to build the coordination, review, and developer-experience layers on top.
