AI agents now call businesses: ElevenLabs ships synthetic voice detection
RyanMorrisonJer · x · 2026-10-11
ElevenLabs notes a growing share of calls to businesses are AI agents acting for individuals, companies, or bad actors. It launched synthetic voice detection in ElevenAgents and joined the Personal Agent Protocol working group to define agent-to-agent interaction standards.
Ryan Morrison predicts phones will eventually be answered by personal voice agents from Apple, Google, and Samsung, which will triage incoming business-agent calls as spam, official, or useful.
