Suleyman echoes Nadella: Superintelligence must be contained via engineering and governance
mustafasuleyman · x · 2026-10-11
Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman quoted Satya Nadella's essay "Models as Insider Risks in the Super Intelligence Era" and argued that superintelligence must be contained — a challenge that is now both an engineering and a governance problem.
He stressed the precedent: humanity has contained planes, cars, nuclear materials, food safety and medicines. Nadella's essay argues that traditional software could be traced to specific code paths, but models introduce insider-risk behaviors that demand new traceability and governance tooling.
