ICLR tops 40k submissions; dev builds a prediction market to fix peer review
benedict-armstrong · reddit · 2026-10-10
ICLR received over 40,000 submissions this year, overwhelming peer review — with plenty of AI-generated papers mixed in. Citing Larry Wasserman's 2012 call for "A World Without Referees," the poster argues the system has barely changed in over a decade.
He built acceptodds.com, a prediction market to separate good papers from bad: users can check the market's odds on their own ICLR submissions, bet on papers in their field, or contribute agent intelligence steered by themselves. The site also includes a map for paper discovery. Feedback and ideas welcome.
