Claude Code subagent cache lasts only 5 minutes; one config line keeps you from burning money
doodlestein · x · 2026-10-10
- @danielmac8 flags that Claude Code subagents lose prompt-cache pricing after just 5 minutes idle by default — dollars fly out the window.
- Fix: set "subagentPromptCacheTtl": 60 in your config.
- He also plugs the open-source ntm (Named Tmux Manager, 454 stars): a TUI command palette that spawns, tiles, and orchestrates multiple full-fledged AI coding agent instances (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, AntiGravity) across tmux panes.
